Dr. Boisvert was born in Fort Collins, Colorado. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado and medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She is interested in obstetrics and full-spectrum family medicine. She enjoys cooking, biking, yoga and spending time with her husband.
Ashley Brown, MD, Rural Training Track
Dr. Brown is originally from California. She grew up there and in Wisconsin. She earned her B.S. in kinesiology and nutrition from San Diego State University, her master’s in public health from Touro University and her medical degree from American University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten. She is interested in rural, full-spectrum family medicine with an emphasis in OB, women’s health and public health. She has four beautiful fur kids (two cats, two dogs) and enjoys running, yoga, cooking and baking, reading and anything outdoors, especially backpacking and hiking.
Andrew Clark, DO
Dr. Clark was born and raised in northwest Montana. He attended Carroll College for his undergraduate degree and completed his medical training at Pacific Northwest University. He and his wife, Erin, enjoy spending their free time travelling, cooking and exploring the outdoors.
Peter Edminster, MD, Rural Training Track
Pete was born in Spokane. He attended and wrestled for Mead High School. He has four siblings and 10 nieces and nephews. His dad is a retired ER doctor, his mom an ARNP who practices in Spokane. He hopes to go back to Montana (his actual home) to practice full-spectrum family medicine. Pete married his wife Melissa last August; they’re expecting their first child in December. He enjoys working outside, hiking/camping, fly fishing, rock climbing, coaching wrestling, board games, and historical novels.
James Fernando, MD
James grew up in Cleveland, Tennessee and went to college at Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he studied international rescue and relief. That’s where he also met wife Rachel, who was studying to be a physician assistant. They have been married for more than three years. They love the outdoors: hiking, backpacking or rock climbing. His hobbies include jogging, stock market investing and time-lapse photography.
Alex Heimbigner, MD
Alex was raised in South Jordan, Utah. He’s the oldest of four children. He’s not married and doesn’t have any children. He did his undergraduate training at Brigham Young University and his medical school training at the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois. He loves reading, watching anime and hiking.
Leah Kobes, MD
Leah is happily married to her husband Kelly. They have a young son, Jack, with whom she spends much of her free time. In their spare time they enjoy fishing, hiking, camping, hunting, gardening, spending time with family, music and tractor restoration. They recently moved from Wilbur, Washington, where they were members of their community band. They plan to move back to a rural area after her residency.
Bethany Miller, DO
Beth was born and raised in The Dalles, Oregon. She lived in Colorado and California and is excited to move to Washington. She originally studied to be a math teacher, but after two years of teaching middle school math, she decided to switch careers to medicine. Beth and her husband Nan love spending time together and with their families. They also love the outdoors, playing games, watching sports, traveling and going to movies.
Jesse Miller, MD
Jesse grew up on a farm in south central Minnesota. He has a degree in biology from the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he also attended medical school and focused on rural family medicine. He is also interested in sports medicine. Jesse and his wife Kati, an elementary school teacher, enjoy music, cooking, home brewing beer and watching baseball games. He also enjoys cycling and golf.
Megan Sakamoto-Chun, DO
Dr. Sakamoto-Chun was born and raised in Aiea, Hawaii. She graduated from Texas Christian University in 2008 and went to work as a liaison for patients. She earned her Master’s of Science in Medical Science from North Texas Health Science Center and then attended the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and earned her DO. Megan enjoys time with family and friends, home-cooked meals, movies and outdoor activities.
Sarah Sowerwine, MD
Dr. Sowerwine grew up in Wyoming, where she learned to love the outdoors, animals and adventure. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Montana and her medical degree from the University of Washington. Her interests include maternal child health, adolescents and global health. Away from work, she spends time with family, friends and her two dogs. She likes gardening, crafting, hiking, climbing and water.
Gabriel Williams, MD
Gabe is originally from New Jersey. He spent 12 years in the state of Maine, most in an off-the-grid cabin he built in the woods, before going to medical school at the University of Colorado. He has worked as a wooden boat builder, a carpenter and an EMT, among other jobs. He enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking with his dog, and gardening. Gabe intends to practice family medicine in a rural setting after his residency.
